Team Tennessee's Cody Gann returned from the 2025 National High School Rodeo Finals in Gillette, Wyoming with more than a world title, but a piece of event history. Gann took home his fourth consecutive world title in the Boys Cutting event. This feat made him the first ever to win a national title all four years in the same event. Gann proved unbeatable at the national level starting his freshman year of high school.
Originally from Leighton, Alabama, Gann competes through the Tennessee High School Rodeo Association. Over his career, he has become one of the most respected names in high school cutting, specifically for his consistency.
Now a four-time national champion, Cody Gann’s name is etched in NHSRA history for good.
This national title is so prestigious because there are top high school talents from all over the world competing at the NHSFR annually. One national title is a feat in itself, let alone four in a row.
Cutting was one of the original events of the NHSRA. They were one of the first, and remain one of the only, rodeo associations to include that aspect of the industry. The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) has been a long time partner with the NHSRA by even presenting the first ever High School cutting invitational. The inaugural event took place in Fort Worth this past April (2025).
Both associations are proud to support the up and comers of the cutting world, and are working to create more opportunities for these talented youth.
